There is to be a transition of materiality between the two existing sides of the building through portal openings which enables the inhabitants a sense of location when standing in the traditional address of the building. A glazed curtain wall with vertical articulation and sweeping fins to a new proposed awning reference fenestration break up of the original 32-34 York street site, while masonry brick will cover the facade of the original 36 York street site referencing the original materiality of the building.
